Lead Paint Risk Assessment and Stabilization, Malheur National Forest, John Day, OR; USDA Forest Service Region 6
This project entailed initial lead inspections, risk assessments, and lead paint abatement and remediation of 41 USFS historic buildings, ranging from residences, fire lookout towers, warehouses, barns, and other outbuildings. In addition, a historic restoration of select buildings was performed since many of the buildings were constructed in the 1930’s. White Shield provided on-site project management and oversight, assisted with the inspections, crew training, project staffing, project safety and job hazard analysis, and hazardous material disposal. Many of the buildings were located in remote forested areas including mountain peaks.
