We utilize ESRI GIS systems for planning, monitoring, and mapping to maximize the efficiency of scarce resources and understanding and knowledge of our natural and built environment.

Environmental Engineering

White Shield provides a wide variety of environmental engineering services to assist our clients in complying with the myriad of local, state, and federal regulations, as well as assisting with their environmental and natural resource issues. We believe that these issues can be managed in a cost-effective and timely manner to the complete satisfaction of all stakeholders.

Environmental Due Diligence

White Shield provides environmental due diligence services to assist our client’s understanding and to address potential environmental liabilities associated with individual properties. Our environmental due diligence services include Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (Phase I ESA), investigations for potential contamination (Phase II ESA), remediation of identified contamination (Phase III ESA), and hazardous material inventory and waste removal.

Geotechnical Engineering

White Shield geotechnical engineers actively support projects for government installations, commercial development, industrial sites, residential structure, or recreational facilities. White Shield engineers specialize in forensic investigations for foundation failure or groundwater intrusion and the design and construction of retaining wall systems.

Over the course of completing a soil remediation effort at the Satus Store site on the Yakama Nation, the Yakama Nation Cultural Resources Program determined that the former gas station was a historic site. While working with White Shield and second-tier subcontractors, we collectively discussed ways in which the foundation of the structure could be protected while still performing as much soil removal as possible, electing to maintain a protective slope angle for the excavation sidewall that faced the building. Ultimately, White Shield effectively protected the historic structure while maximizing soil removal quantities. We consider the performance of White Shield on this job to have been a success on all counts.

We had a lot, in an undeveloped area, that needed to be surveyed to find property lines and elevations for flood certification. Whiteshield employees were wonderful. Our surveyor showed up exactly when he said he would be there and got right to work with his cool high-tech equipment. After the surveying, we applied for a map amendment to see if we could have our lot removed from the flood zone. The owner was very helpful! He quickly and completely filed all of the paperwork for us. We even got our map amendment quicker than we anticipated. We highly recommend this professional company.
